She will return to her birthplace of Hunterton Farm at Stoner Creek where she'll join their broodmare band which includes her dam Southwind Serena, a winner of $388,000 during her career.

Trained by Per Henriksen, Serena is owned by Andrea Lea Racing Stables of Quebec (retired professor George Lowenfeld) along with Hunterton's Steve Stewart and Black Creek Farm. Mission Brief sold as a yearling at the Lexington Select Sale for $150,000.

Owned throughout her career by Burke Racing, Our Horse Cents Stable, Weaver Bruscemi and J&T Silva Stables Mission Brief was driven in every one of her starts by Yannick Gingras. During her rookie season she captured several New Jersey Sire Stakes, the Breeders Crown elimination and Final her Peaceful Way and Goldsmith Maid eliminations.

When she captured the International Stallion Stake at The Red Mile in October of her rookie season, by 18 lengths in 1:50.3, she destroyed her own world record of 1:52.1.

After that race her co-owner Jerry Silva said: A filly with her kind of speed is just scary. She ranks right up there with some of the greats, including Muscle Hill.

She made many headlines during her stellar career including racing against the boys in the 2015 Hambletonian. She won her elimination in 1:51.3 and was a close second to Pinkman in the million dollar final.

That year she also won the Continental Victory, Zweig, Matron, Bluegrass, Elegantimage and NJSS events. Her five length 1:50.2 victory in the Matron, her second last lifetime start, was a world record.

Shes the best horse Ive ever had, Ive said it all along. No other horse Ive ever had can do what she does, said her trainer Ron Burke after what would prove to be her last career start. She did not race last season due to a leg injury.

Mission Brief's date for the 2017 breeding season has yet to be determined.

She is the third of Southwind Serena's foals. The first was exported, the second is the Andover Hall gelding Exemplar ($281,000), who is currently racing at Woodbine, and last year's sophomore Earn Your Wings ($264,000).
