All Spirit Successful At Tioga
Jul 6

All Spirit and driver Jimmy Marohn Jr. captured the featured $16,500 fillies and mares open pace on Friday night at Tioga Downs.

Leaving from post position number one in a six horse field, Marohn settled All Spirit in third as Queen Of Royalty (Corey Braden) led the field by an opening quarter in 26 seconds. All Spirit quickly pulled from the three-hole at the three-eighths pole and controlled the pace by a half in 56 seconds.

Down the backside and headed towards three-quarters, Runaway Tray (Mike Merton) pulled first-up against All Spirit, and she would remain in that position through three-quarters in 1:24.

Around the final turn, All Spirit was asked for more by Marohn, and she responded, opening up on the field with ease to win by open lengths in 1:52.1. Up Front Kellie Jo (Jim Meittinis) closed late for second, while Runaway Tray (Mike Merton) hung on for third.

Judy Lanpher trains the six-year-old daughter of Bettors Delight–Spirit Of Ivy for Larry Lanpher of Winter Park, Florida. The win was the fifth in 13 seasonal starts for All Spirit, and with the win she increased her seasonal earnings to more than $51,000.
