ISOBA Stake Won By Power Of A Moment
Oct 15

Power Of A Moment made every pole a winning one in the $16,700 Illinois Standardbred Owners and Breeders Association Stake for three-year-old colt and gelding pacers on Friday night at Maywood Park.

With Marcus Miller in the bike, Power Of A Moment stepped his way to the front from post position seven, and he would chop out fractions of :27.2, :56.1, and 1:24.3. Race favourite Voomerang (Mike Oosting) came first-over out of fourth before the half, and he was only a head behind Power Of A Moment at three-quarters.

Power Of A Moment battled back on the far turn to regain a clear lead over Voomerang, but then the passing lane became available to pocket-sitter Indescribable (John De Long) in the stretch, and Indescribable came through to try and take the win in the dying strides. It was to no avail, though, as Power Of A Moment stayed game and won by a neck over Indescribable with Voomerang just another half a length back in third.

Trainer Erv Miller also co-owns Power Of A Moment, a Cole Muffler gelding, with partners Leland Mathias and Bert Hochsprung. Power Of A Moment has won six of his 15 starts this year, and he now has 18 career victories. He has now pocketed $125,481 in 2010 and $417,081 lifetime.
