It has been announced this morning to The Harness Edge that Art Official has been sold to Pennsylvania owner Joe Muscara.
The four-year-old Art Major-Naughty Shady Lady son will become Muscara's property after the American National is raced at Balmoral Park on Saturday night.
"I have a signed contract so it's official," said present owner James Jesk of Sawgrass Farms in Illinois.
"The price was $2.75 million but I do not know Joe's plans for stud duty other than it will be in the United States. Art Official has been a great experience and I wish them well with the horse."
Joe Seekman trained Art Official who has won just over $2 million in his career. He will be forever known as the horse that handed Somebeachesomewhere his sole defeat in the 2008 Meadowlands Pace.
