No Elitlopp This Year For Strong Yankee
Jan 19

In an extensive interview with the Norwegian website trav24.no, trainer Trond Smedshammer says Strong Yankee is not going to Europe to compete in the rich races in Scandinavia this coming spring.

Smedshammer cites the fact that Strong Yankee won't be back in training before February which does not leave enough time to properly prepare to meet the top aged trotters in the world. If all goes well Smedshammer would be interested in touring Europe next year when Strong Yankee will be five.

Owned by the Strong Yankee Stable of Port Perry, Ont., the Muscles Yankee horse had a summary of 8-6-1 in 20 starts last year at three and included among his victories the Breeders Crown, Kentucky Futurity and Yonkers Trot. He earned $1.2 million last season
