Kwik Talkin To The Meadows Next
Jul 17

Kwik Talkin, the winner of Saturday's Lawrence B. Sheppard final at Yonkers Raceway, now sits in an interesting position for his connections.

The colt posted a very solid victory but will have an abreviated season with just Pennsylvania Sires Stakes on the horizon. He was made eligible to nothing else according to co-owner and trainer Robbie Robinson of Metcalfe, Ontario.

"As I said in our previous interview, I bought him because I could not afford Ontario-sired horses. He was by Well Said and Pennsylvania eligible so $18,000 fit my price point," he explained.

"The odds of him being a Grand Circuit horse were not good so we just paid him in the Pennsylvania sires. I also don't like seeing two-year-olds over raced. If he makes the final of the Pennsylvania program that will be September 4 and then back home with the season over."

Jacqueline Dinelle and Scott and Lisa Henry of Oddessa, Ontario, share ownership with Robinson of the colt who now has $72,325 in winnings with four wins in four starts following the $110,500 Yonkers test which he won in 1:53.4.

"Robert Harmon who is training him for us while in the U.S. said he was a little tired after the race but maybe that's to be expected. He did all the heavy lifting in the race and no one could have asked him to race any better.

"But he will have to be better in the next start at The Meadows. If it is a good night I expect the miles will be in 1:51 over that track."

Robinson is based at Hamstad Farm in the Ottawa Valley community of Russell, Ontario.
