Babes Gold, under the command of catch-driver Brodie MacPhee, held off Rymar Chief and Kenny Murphy in a deep stretch battle to win by a nose in the Thursday night feature race at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino. The time of the mile was 1:57.2. It was the MacPhee’s fourth winner on the card. Gary Poulton handles the training duties for owners Joe Squires and Bethany MacLeod of Charlottetown. Acesnassets was third for Gary Chappell.
Mark Bradley and Marc Campbell had driving doubles.
Racing returns on Saturday. Post time is 7 p.m. Customers can also watch and wager on the Saturday card from Red Shores at Summerside Raceway.
